Small Victories
"Life is a journey"
"It is about the journey, not the destination"
"It's a marathon, not a sprint"
I can't tell you how many times I have heard these quotes. Or how many people have tried to explain the importance of being present. The harder I try to be present, the more I am frustrated that I drift away from being in the present moment.
I can't be perfectly present right now. I've tried! And I'm not going to stay frustrated with myself either...so, what's my plan? Take a big complicated goal and break it down into manageable bite-sized pieces. And savor it!
This week, I am trying to focus on the positive. Even if I'm only present 1% of the time, I am going to focus on that 1% and appreciate myself for hitting that goal.
This week, I want you to celebrate your little victories and small successes. Is landing your dream job celebration-worthy? OF COURSE! But so is applying for your dream job. You had to finish a resume, write a cover letter, pick your references and navigate through some (probably) complicated online application. To me, that deserves just as much celebration!
This week, let's celebrate!
