Self Compassion

I've seen a lot of fitness quotes lately like: "you're the only thing holding yourself back" or "stop making excuses."

These things are true, but to those out there struggling to get it all in, I also want to say...it's OK. If you don't get to the gym 5 days every week, it's OK.

I've been studying a concept called self-compassion lately. To be honest, it's something I really struggle with. I'm a perfectionist, and I rationalize that by saying "I set lofty goals." The thing is, if my goals aren't achievable, I'm only hurting myself.

Right now, my body needs rest. It's sick, and trying to recover. My goals right now need to be to eat foods that heal my body, destress as much as possible, and do things that help me detox. My goal shouldn't be to wake up early to squeeze in a HIIT session before work.

If anyone else struggles with unrealistic goals, you're not alone. Remember to set yourself up for success by creating achievable goals.

For me, that looks like: green shakes for breakfast, remember to take all of my supplements, and make it to yoga.

I just want you to know that the progress you're making toward your goals is HUGE. We all have different goals that are right for us today. Don't forget to celebrate every single step you're taking toward health and wellness and happiness!
