One of my clients asked me what my strategy is for balance...
What is my strategy? Well, my life isn't perfectly balanced so my strategy is to be ok with that.
I am accepting life isn't always (or ever?) going to be perfectly balanced. When you think of a perfect life, what do you think of? I think of home cooked, healthy meals in a spotless home with a happy family.
Yes, there are small changes I can make to get my day-to-day closer to that ideal, but it doesn't take any other responsibilities into account. How do the bills get paid? Where does the giant pack of Costco toilet paper go in this perfectly cleaned house? When would I ever have time to get to the gym between my job and cooking and cleaning?
Life is busy, and I want to do everything. Do you know how many pins are on my Pinterest boards? 15,353. And I pinned them because they are things I like, things I want to try and places I want to see. I'm proud to say my most recent pin says "Care Way Less."
It's a great reminder to all of us that happiness doesn't come from what others think about us, it comes from within.
So, what is my strategy? Try new things, do old things that make me happy and Care Way Less about where I’m going to hide that massive pack of TP when friends are over!
